Finals week is here! We are all busy pulling all nighters week after week just trying to prepare of the upcoming tests. Everyone at school looked like zombies, with heavy bags under their eyes. You can tell everyone is stressed out. Its hard for me to focus studying when my head is clouded with worry (we’re all scared we won’t pass the tests since we have weeks and weeks of it) so I decided to go for a walk. Even though I see my neighborhood everyday I’ve never really took the time to go out and look around. On my walk I met an old lady and we kept each other company. We talked for quite some time. As we walk around the neighborhood she started pointing out things I’ve never noticed before like that old abandoned house that has once been filled with life and joy, that bench where couples made their promises now covered in vines, and a lot more other thing. Talking to her made me realize that there is a story behind everything here and I’m grateful to be a part of it. It made me think about a lot of things, this place might be where newlyweds got their first home or where a loved one drew their breath for the last time, it was very overwhelming to think about but still, sometimes we just have to pause and take everything in. I went home that day feeling serene, when the whole world seems to be going too fast maybe all you need to do is stop.
